TEMPERMENT

• Ernie needs to be in a home with no other animals (He is territorial within his home).
• People friendly, he loves everyone he meets.
• Moderate-high prey drive. He is good on leash but his prey drive can kick in when he sees a squirrel/rabbit. He is not reactive to other dogs when out on a walk.
• He doesn’t have food/toy aggression.
• Ernie requires daily exercise, he has no problem going on an hour walk or 30 minute run, however he is a calm boy when in his home.
• Requires a fence yard. He has been known to take himself on walks by himself.
• Ernie is very sweet and loveable, he will always want to be near you. He is very loyal and will be your shadow, even in the bathroom!

OWNER SUITABILITY

• He is dominant and can be stubborn (typical mastiff) so he would therefore need someone with experience with a large breed alpha dog.
• He is a large boy who doesn’t always know his own size and can be uncomfortable around small children so a home with children 10+.
• He is house trained and is used to being home during the day when I am at work.
• Must be okay with drool, as mastiff are known for the this.
