I can hardly see through my tears…
today I sent a friend somewhere she had to go,
where pain and sickness she won’t have to know.

She’s been with me for just a few years …
And already I had to give her up.
She was sick, we both knew it
and I wouldn’t put her through it.

The last few weeks I had to try
to find a way to say goodbye.
In that time I told her more
than I ever had before
just how much I loved her,
how it hurt to give her up.
And how though gone, she’d always be
a very big part inside my heart.
